After one fateful night, Sam wakes up with no future at all. Born in 1981. Actress and director, she debuted in 2003 with the short BABES IN TOYLAND. Her second short film MARION, won several awards including a Silver Hugo for Best Experimental Short at the Chicago Independent Film Festival. Her first feature, ORPHANS, won a special jury prize at South by Southwest in 2007. Her feature film NOBODY WALKS (2012) won a special jury prize at Sundance. As an actress, she also appeared in Joe Swanberg’s HANNAH TAKES THE STAIRS and THE COLOR WHEEL. In 2015, Russo-Young won a Creative Capital award for her film, THE FAMILY MOVIE. BEFORE I FALL, her most recent film, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2017.
