Synopsis
1995, Ostia. Vittorio and Cesare are in their early twenties and have been friends forever. They live a life full of excesses and Hedonism. A world where money, luxury cars, night clubs, cocaine and synthetic drugs are easy to run. They have a very strong bond, nonetheless they are different, both searching for their identity. Vittorio starts to want a different life for himself: he meets Linda and abandons Cesare who inevitably sinks. The bond that unites them is so strong that Vittorio will never really abandon his friend always looking to the future with new eyes together. He tries to help him by finding him a job. Cesare, seems like he wants to change his lifestyle, he goes out with Viviana (Vittorio's ex girlfriend) and dreams about having a family with her but ends up falling into the vicious circles again and again.

Born in 1948, in Arona. After making some documentaries on drugs and militants of the 70's he makes Amore tossico, in 1983. The films turns out to be a cult movie for many generations. It is the harsh story of heroine addiction played by amateur actors. The feature was presented at the Mostra Internazionale del Cinema ini Veneziaand won the Special Prize in the De Sica Section. It also won awards in Valencia while Michela Mioni won Best female Leading actress award at the San Sebastian Film Festival. In 1998 he directed L'odore della notte, based on a novel by Dido Sacchettoni. The story is set against the backdrop of the Roman mob and features Valerio Mastandrea, Marco Giallini and Giorgio Tirabassi. It was presented at the International Venice Film Festival out of competition. In May 2015, he finished editing his last flick Non essere cattivo/Don't Be Bad a few days before his death.
