Ivan Cotroneo
Born 1968, Naples (Italy). Writer, screenwriter, director. He graduated in Screenwriting from the Experimental Film Centre in Rome. His scriptwriting credits for cinema include: Pappi Corsicato’s CHIMERA (2001); Renato De Maria’s PAZ! (2002) and THE FRONT LINE (LA PRIMA LINEA, 2009); Daniele Luchetti’s GINGER AND CINNAMON (DILLO CON PAROLE MIE, 2003); Riccardo Milani’s PIANO, SOLO (2007); Maria Sole Tognazzi’s THE MAN WHO LOVES (L’UOMO CHE AMA, 2008) and A FIVE STAR LIFE (VIAGGIO DA SOLA, 2013); Luca Guadagnino’s I AM LOVE (IO SONO L’AMORE, 2009); Ferzan Ozpetek’s LOOSE CANNONS (MINE VAGANTI, 2010). As a TV writer he created the series TUTTI PAZZI PER AMORE and THE FAMILY (UNA GRANDE FAMIGLIA). He wrote four novels: “Il re del mondo” (2003); “Cronaca di un disamore” (2005); “La kryptonite nella borsa” (2007); “Un bacio” (2011). In 2011 he made his debut as a director with the feature film KRYPTONITE! (LA KRYPTONITE NELLA BORSA). Then he directed the TV and web series UNA MAMMA IMPERFETTA, and the TV movie IL NATALE DELLA MAMMA IMPERFETTA (2013). He is the Italian translator of the writers Hanif Kureishi and Michael Cunningham.
