Synopsis
Pari, 10 year-old, and Chotu, her 8 year-old brother, orphans, live in an Indian village with their uncle and aunt. Chotu is blind but joyful; Pari is his eyes, his guide, his best friend. She has promised Chotu that he’ll be able to see by the time he turns 9. One day she sees a poster with an Indian movie star, Shahrukh Khan, appealing to people to donate their eyes. She is convinced that her reel life hero can help her fulfil her promise to Chotu and writes a letter to Khan pleading Chotu’s case. She doesn’t hear back but doesn’t give up and writes a letter to Khan every day. Then she hears that Khan is shooting about 300 km from her village. She is confident that if she can meet Khan, Chotu will get his eyesight back. In the dead of the night, she runs away from home with Chotu. What unfolds is a journey that only the innocence of childhood allows to experience.
