Synopsis
Set against the backdrop of a longstanding conflict between bees and hornets, Maya the bee is born into a world of order and rules. Her hilariously awkward attempts to fit in and “be a bee” bring her into trouble with the evil Royal Advisor, which meanwhile is hatching a plot to steal the Queen’s royal jelly. But Maya stumbles onto the Advisor’s plot, and calls on all the insects for help, including the feared hornets, who unexpectedly prove themselves very good allies.

Alexis Stadermann
Alexis Stadermann has worked for many of the major international studios, including Walt Disney Studios in Sydney. During his time with Walt Disney Studios, he was supervising animator on LION KING 1 ½ (2004), and second unit director of TARZAN II (2005) and BAMBI II (2006). As well as directing two seasons of the animated TV show for Aardman’s Animation PLANET SKETCH, he was part of the director’s unit on Zack Snyder’s animated feature film LEGEND OF THE GUARDIANS: THE OWLS OF GA’HOOLE (2010).
