Rasmus A. Sivertsen

Born 1972. He studied Animation at the Volda University College, graduating in 1995. He has since become an active figure in the Scandinavian animation industry. As a co-owner of the company Qvisten Animation, he directed several commercials. In 2001 he made the short film GUGGEN: THE BIG CHEESE (GUGGEN – DU STORE GAUDA), which was screened at the GFF 2002. In 2003 he co-directed, along with Stig Bergqvist, his first feature film, CAPTAIN SABERTOOTH (KAPTEIN SABELTANN). Then he made the feature films KURT TURNS EVIL (KURT BLIR GRUSOM, 2008), PLODDY THE POLICE CAR MAKES A SPLASH (PELLE POLITIBIL GÅR I VANNET, 2010), PLODDY THE POLICE CAR ON THE CASE (PELLE POLITIBIL PÅ SPORET, 2013).

Director’s statement

“I wanted to make a Christmas movie based on the wonderful work of Kjell Aukrust, told with both warmth and humour”.

“As the film’s main character we are introduced to the ever apprehensive hedgehog Ludvig. Ludvig is a personal pessimist and afraid of changes in general. When disaster is threatening to wipe out the entire village of Flåklypa, he has to challenge his own fears and anxieties to save his friends and the village – and Christmas”.
