Nils Skapans
Born in 1969 in Riga, Latvia. In 1987 graduated a high school and from 1989 start working in animation. Cameraman, animator, script writer and director. In 1989 Nils became a cinematographer at Dauka and took part in creating the first full-length animation film in Latvia – NESS AND NESSY, along with several shorts. From 1993 to 1999 at Animācijas Brigāde (specialized in puppet animation) , the name Nils Skapāns can be found in film credits as scriptwriter, director and animator. Many series were created, and the film, LET’S FLY! – part of a series on the strange animals MUNK AND LEMMY, in turn brought a special animal to Nils Skapāns and his team – the Glass Bear the Berlinale Children’s Jury awarded the film in 1995. In 2000 Nils created his own brand, Nilsons. Nilsons has made more than 10 films for young and old, using a sense of humour, wooden blocks, figurines, clay and other materials. In 2005 Nils Skapāns returned to Berlinale with his LISTEN, RABBIT?...DADDY GOES TO LONDON!. In 2010 – it was WONDERFUL DAY. He has made more than 30 films to date, and has used plasticine as the main material for his puppet animation. Since 2012 Nils Skapāns and Nilsons works with producer Roberts Vinovskis at his studio Locomotive Productions. CAT IN THE BAG is the first film, completed as a result of this creative union.

Nils Skapans
Nato nel 1969 a Riga, in Lettonia. Nel 1987 si diploma alla scuola superiore e dal 1989 e iniziare a lavorare come animatore. Cmeraman, animatore, sceneggiatore e regista, nel 1989 Nils diventa direttore della fotografia presso lo studio d’animazione Dauka prendendo parte alla creazione del primo lungometraggio animato lettone, NESS AND NESSY, e di diversi cortometraggi. Dal 1993 al 1999 alla Animācijas Brigāde (uno studio specializzato in pupazzi animati), Nils lavora come sceneggiatore, regista e animatore. Vengono create diverse serie e con il film LET’S FLY Nils e la sua squadra conquistano il Glass Bear alla Berlinale del 1995. Nel 2000 Nils crea un suo marchio, Nilsons con il quale realizza oltre 10 film per grandi e piccini, con grande senso dell’umorismo, blocchi di legno, statuine, argilla e altri materiali. Nel 2005 Nils Skapāns torna alla Berlinale con il suo LISTEN, RABBIT? ... DADDY GOES TO LONDON!. Nel 2010 è la volta di WONDERFUL DAY. Nils ha realizzato più di 30 film fino ad oggi usando principalmente la plastilina per i suoi pupazzi animati. Dal 2012 Nils Skapāns lavora con il produttore Roberts Vinovskis nel suo studio Locomotive Productions. CAT IN THE BAG è il primo film frutto di questa collaborazione creativa.
