Synopsis
Oskar, a 9 years-old amateur inventor, Francophile, and pacifist searches New York City for the lock that matches a mysterious key left behind by his father, who died in the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001.

Stephen Daldry
Born 1960, Dorset (England). He is a theatre and film director and producer. In 2000 he made his feature debut, BILLY ELLIOTT. In 2002 he shot THE HOURS, starring Nicole Kidman, who won the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. In 2008 he directed THE READER, starring Kate Winslet, who won the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. He received three Academy Award nominations for Best Director for each of this three feature films. As a theatre director he won two Laurence Olivier Awards and two Tony Awards.
Stephen Daldry
Nato nel 1960 nel Dorset, in Inghilterra. È attivo come regista e produttore di cinema e di teatro. Nel 2000 realizza il suo primo lungometraggio, BILLY ELLIOT. Nel 2002 gira THE HOURS, con cui Nicole Kidman vince l’Oscar come migliore attrice protagonista. Nel 2008 dirige THE READER - A VOCE ALTA (THE READER), con cui Kate Winslet vince l’Oscar come migliore attrice protagonista. Per questi tre film, Daldry ha ricevuto tre nomination all’Oscar per la miglior regia. Come regista teatrale, ha vinto due Laurence Olivier Awards e due Tony Awards.
