Lynne Ramsay
Born 1969, Glasgow. She studied photography at Napier University in Edinburgh and then attended the National Film and TV School specialising in cinematography and directing. Her graduation short, SMALL DEATHS (1996), won the Jury Prize at Cannes. Later she directed other two shorts, KILL THE DAY (1996), and GASMAN (1998), which won another Cannes Jury Prize in 1998. Her debut feature, RATCATCHER (1999), was screened in the “Un Certain Regard” section at Cannes 1999, and was followed by MORVERN CALLAR (2002). WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN was screened in competition at Cannes 2011.
