Synopsis

USA, 1950s. During the summer, the greaser Danny Zuko, leader of the T-Birds, a band of students at the Rydell High School, meets the innocent Australian girl Sandy Olsson, and they fall in love. But at the end of the holidays, Sandy has to return to Australia. By a twist of fate, she moves back to the USA and attends the same high school as Danny. Sandy hangs with the Pink Ladies, a group of girls at Rydell. Danny and Sandy share memories of their romance with their respective friends, but the girls mock Sandy for her ingenuity. After various adventures, Sandy accepts the rebellious nature of Danny and decides to be more gritty and determined. At the prom, a new Sandy surprises Danny: she is ready to conquer him. To the tune of YOU’RE THE ONE THAT I WANT, they both understand they’re soul mates.

Sinossi

USA, anni ’50. Durante l’estate, Danny Zuko, leader dei T-Birds, una banda di studenti della Rydell High School, incontra Sandy Olsson, un’innocente ragazza australiana, e i due si innamorano. Alla fine delle vacanze, Sandy deve tornare in Australia e i due sono costretti a dirsi addio, giurandosi amore eterno. Ma i programmi di Sandy cambiano: la ragazza si iscrive alla Rydell, dove si aggrega a un gruppo di studentesse, le Pink Ladies. Sia Danny che Sandy confidano agli amici la loro storia, ma Sandy viene derisa dalle compagne per la sua ingenuità. Dopo varie avventure, Sandy accetta la natura ribelle di Danny e decide di rimettersi in gioco, abbandonando le vesti di ragazza per bene. Alla festa di fine anno, una nuova e più grintosa Sandy appare allo stupito Danny, pronta a riconquistarlo. Sulle note del brano YOU’RE THE ONE THAT I WANT, i due capiscono di essere fatti l’uno per l’altra.
