Synopsis

How does your emotional state affect the inside story of your body? What happens on the inside when we suppress emotions on the outside? THE INSIDE STORY explores the inside world of two pre-teens, Ellie and Alfred. When Ellie swallows her anger and stomps on her pride, she appears unaffected on the surface, while the inside story is wrought with tension. Every time she suppresses anger, it enters her body in the form of red smoke, travels down the oesophagus and adds a fine layer to a dark lump on her throat. The author have created an external world and characters in 2D mode and juxtaposed internal responses with vivid 3D worlds.

In che modo le emozioni influenzano il corpo? Cosa accade dentro di noi quando nascondiamo i nostri sentimenti? THE INSIDE STORY esplora il mondo interiore di due ragazzi, Ellie e Alfred. Quando Ellie ingoia la rabbia e zittisce l’orgoglio, fuori appare imperturbabile, ma dentro è piena di tensione: la rabbia repressa entra nel corpo della ragazza sottoforma di fumo rosso, che si sposta attraverso l’esofago e lascia un grumo sottile e scuro sulla gola. Il corto giustappone l’animazione tradizionale in 2D per il mondo esterno all’animazione digitale in 3D per il mondo interno.
