Salvatore Stabile
Writer, producer and director, Stabile was born in New York. At an astonishing 19, his first film GRAVESEND, about four Brooklyn teens and an accidental murder, attracted the attention of Hollywood. Since then Stabile has written for television series as THE SOPRANOS and RESCUE ME. WHERE GOD LEFT HIS SHOES premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Director's statement
"I’ve wanted to do a father/son/family story for a long time. I grew up just outside Coney Island, and it wasn’t easy for my parents to raise three children. There were a lot of times when it felt like we were going to make it. But we did, and I think the reason was because we always stuck together as a family, no matter how difficult things got. So when I set out to write the script, the most important thing I wanted to show was a family going through the most difficult time of their life, and in the end come to the decision that no matter how bad things get, they will stick together and survive as long as they have each other".

“Da molto tempo volevo raccontare la storia di un padre, di un figlio e di una famiglia. Sono cresciuto poco lontano da Coney Island e non è stato facile per i miei crescere tre figli. Ci sono state tante volte in cui si sentiva questa difficoltà. Ma ce l’abbiamo fatta e credo sia stato possibile perché siamo sempre stati una famiglia unita, non importava quanto fosse difficile la situazione. Così, quando ho cominciato a scrivere la sceneggiatura, la cosa più importante che volevo mostrare era una famiglia che attraversa il momento più difficile della sua vita e che alla fine giunge alla decisione che per quanto le cose vadano male, resteranno insieme e sopravvivranno finché questo sarà possibile”.
