Synopsis

Nim is the daughter of the scientist Jack. When she goes to live with him on a Pacific Island - where he is doing some research - she finds new friends: Fred the iguana, Chica the turtle, and Selkie, the sea lion. Her only contact with the outside world are the emails she exchanges with a Newyorker woman, a writer who is agoraphobic. When Jack goes on a boat trip and doesn’t come back, Nim asks her girlfriend for help. The woman has to help her little friend. In order to save Nim she has to forget all her phobias.

As a writer, Jennifer Flackett worked on the films L.A. LAW (1986), MADELINE (1998), WIMBLEDON (2004), LITTLE MANHATTAN (2005), JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH (2008). NIM’S ISLAND is the first film she directed.

 

Mark Levin
Writer and producer, Mark Levin works above all for television. Among his productions: the TV series THE WONDERS YEARS (1988), GOING TO EXTREMES (1992), EARTH 2 (1994). He wrote for the big screen the film WIMBLEDON directed by Richard Loncraine and directed LITTLE MANHATTAN, written by his wife Jennifer Flackett and selected at the GFF 2006 (First Screens).
