Synopsis
England in the Eighties. Eight students of a public school are preparing their admission exams to Oxford and Cambridge. Two teachers, very different, help them: Mister Irwin is a brilliant new graduate from Oxford, while Mister Hector is a not a conventional literature teacher. The two men have to shape their pupils minds, but at the same time they have the difficult task to take them away from dangerous distractions.

Nicholas Hytner
Born in 1956 in Manchester, he worked for the National Theatre. After his film debut with THE MADNESS OF KING GEORGE (1994), nominee to four Oscars, he directed THE CRUCIBLE (1996) and THE OBJECT OF MY AFFECTION (1998). He has also directed several operas around Europe.
