Synopsis

Six stray dogs – Makham, Uncle Kafe, Keng, Piak, Pikul and Sexy the poodle – who scratch a life on the mean streets of Bangkok are made homeless when their slum area is cleared to build a supermarket. In their search for a new home and enough to eat, the six loyal companions are hounded from pillar to post – being seen off by gaggles of ferocious temple dogs, chased out of smart gardens by territorial pets and worst of all hunted down by the dreaded Dog Catcher Unit. Life becomes increasingly difficult and dangerous for these faithful friends. Eventually, it dawns on them that living a hop, skip and sniff from the Fresh Foods Market, which they nickname Dogtopia, is the answer to their prayers. The problem is that it lies on the other side of a busy superhighway. It takes canine ingenuity and dogged determination to build a bridge to freedom.
