TKKG AND THE MYSTERIOUS MIND MACHINE

Category: Edition 2007

Synopsis

Kevin is proud to present his mind machine to his schoolmates and teachers. But after a few confused sentences, he runs off the stage of the auditorium. Then his friend Nadine disappears. There’s no time to lose: it’s a case for TKKG! Tim, Klumpling, Karl and Gabby take advantage of an outing to undertake a daring search for the lost children. They sneak into the house of Kevin’s parents and what they discover takes their breath away: a new prototype of the spectacular mind machine! The quartet begins to suspect that this could be the reason for the disappearances. But who’s behind all this? And what role is Mr. Manek, the biology teacher, playing here? Their investigations take TKKG deeper and deeper into the mystery of the mind machine and on the track of a sinister experiment. It’s the beginning of an adventurous journey of discovery into a world of real and virtual surprises.

Director’s statement

“Kids get kidnapped. But nobody calls for ransom. This scenario could be an every-day-event in our open society, in a world where personal safety and security have definitely gone out of date. Kids are held in pledge by a young scientist in order to come off well. […] Sciences have become more and more indispensable. And unlimited research may lead to complete disregard of the human being. Parents have to set up their kids for this media-possessed jungle of today and tomorrow. Eventually the kids themselves have to censor, if these influences may be good for them, or bad”.
