Synopsis
Alice is poised to fly. A young girl on the threshold of womanhood. But her wings have been clipped. She is trapped. She hovers in childhood, denies her heart and appetite. Her life descends into black and white. Will she find the strength to soar herself into a world of colour?

Sophie Schoukens
She is an art historian, and has a Master in communication sciences, and a Master in film. She worked as a stage actress and attended scriptwriting classes in New York. On her return to Europe, she became a film producer and got involved in several award-winning international co-productions, such as HEY STRANGER, LES AVEUX DE L’INNOCENT, ROSAS DANST ROSAS. She also wrote four of the films she produced: HEY STRANGER, THE LOST SECRET OF CATHERINE THE GREAT, ALICE, MADELINE. About five years ago she sold her production company Sophimages to join the European Commission’s MEDIA Programme. In 2005 she decided to leave the MEDIA Programme in order to realize a dream and direct a film. This is her first film as a director.
