Synopsis

Korean War, 1951. Little Manuk is playing on the streets of his village and dreaming of life at the front where his father is a soldier. He returns home to find a parcel on the doorstep and, thinking it is a birthday present, he opens it. But its contents will change his life.

birthday boy regSejong Park

Sejong Park is from South Korea. He was 31 when he moved to Australia although he first visited in 1994 to complete an English language course. He graduated from the Australian Film Television and Radio School in 2004 with a Masters degree in Digital Media, having previously worked as a 2D animator and published illustrator in both Korea and Australia. BIRTHDAY BOY is Sejong’s first 3D CGI film. The film was selected in over 70 film festivals all over the world and won more than 25 prizes. It was also an Oscar nominee in 2005.
