Synopsis

Step is nineteen and spends his time brawling and competing in motor-racing. He ran away from home because of his violence. Babi is eighteen. She is a perfect daughter and student and she ‘s still waiting for Prince Charming. During an unforgettable year they meet, argue and, finally, fall in love. But, when adolescents grow up, everything can change.

three steps over heaven regLuca Lucini

Born 1967, Milan (Italy). He worked as assistant producer for the TV show Talking Jazz, Super Channel London and directed music videos for many Italian artists from 1993-1997 (to name just a few: Alexia, Edoardo Bennato, Angelo Branduardi, Ligabue, Laura Pausini, Paolo Belli and Vinicio Capossela). He also worked as a freelance director for television channels such as MTV and RAI between 1997-1999. He made several short films and commercials between 1999-2002. In 2003 he directed the successful short film DIANA’S SMILE presented in the Europa Freeway section at GFF 2003. THREE STEPS OVER HEAVEN is his first feature film as a director.

 

Director’s statement

“I think that making a film is a life changing experience; it is team work that involves emotions, wishes, smiles, tears, passion and gives you a lot emotionally and professionally.
“The teenager world is a very popular subject nowadays, but I think that a few directors want to speak directly to adolescents. This was our challenge: make young people dream and move, make a film not only ‘about’ teenagers, but ‘for’ teenagers, discovering that their desire for emotion, love, joy and tears is not very different from that of the previous generations”.
