Manie van Rensburg was born on October 24, 1945 in Krugersdorp, South Africa as Hermanus Philippus Janse van Rensburg. He was a director and producer, known for Freddie's in Love (1971), The Gordimer Stories (1982) and Taxi to Soweto (1991). He was married to Anita Maria Erasmus and Grethe Fox. He died in December 1993 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
