Synopsis
Panic is a small-time crook of Soweto completely uninterested in political struggle. One day he is arrested together with Sam, involved in politics. Panic finishes up in a cell with political prisoners and is despised by them for his life-style. The police, however, have plans for Panic, as their informer. For several days they use gentle persuasion and then torture until he is forced to give information – something which could cost him his life.

Oliver Schmitz (Cape Town, 1961) is a South African director and screenwriter.
He studied at the Michaelis Art School at the University of Cape Town. His first work, Mapantsula, dates back to 1988 and is very successful internationally. Towards the end of the eighties he worked for a small clandestine house producing left-wing documentaries and later made several documentaries.
