LEOPOLD HUBER
Leopold Huber (born October 20, 1955 in Harrau) is an Austrian author, theater and film director.
Huber was born in the Upper Austrian Mühlviertel as the son of a large family of peasants. He has seven siblings. At a young age he went to Vienna. After graduating from the higher technical federal teaching and research institute Vienna 5 Spengergasse he studied psychology and psychiatry for three semesters at the University of Vienna. This was followed by a study of directing and acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar of the University of Music and Performing Arts as well as a music-dramatic seminar with Marcel Prawy and Lothar Knessl in the period from 1976 to 1979.
From 1979 to 1981 he worked as an assistant director at the Theater St. Gallen. Since 1981 he works as a freelance writer, theater and film director.
He lives in Altnau today with his wife and their three children.
