Synopsis
1960: in a small village in the province of Reggio Calabria, on the eve of the Olympic Games in Rome, Mimì, a boy with aspirations as an athlete, trains with his father's knowledge, who wants him to study to save him from the misery of his condition. Mimì even gets to run barefoot so as not to ruin his shoes: his passion ends up moving his mother, who does not hesitate to support his son, and arouses the interest of Felice, a bus driver who becomes his "trainer". The victory of Abebe Bikila at the Olympics, glimpsed on the television screen of a family of haves, will serve as a spur for the boy, who will come to seize the first victory in Rome, during the Youth Games.
