All together they leave on the boat to the continent. Once on the coast everyone goes on his way, but Scricchiolo and "the Professor" remain together. During the journey, he steals rubbing clothes to give them to his friend, but "the Professor" makes him understand that he should not be stolen. So he takes the boy back to his family. For Scricchiolo it is a disappointment, as he would like to stay with his friend. But this is not possible and, after an affectionate farewell, Scricchiolo returns home, followed by his dog.
