VIKTOR KUBAL
Viktor Kubal (* 20 March 1923, Svätý Jur) is a Slovakian artist, cartoonist, screenwriter and film director.
Viktor Kubal stood at the birth of the first Slovak animated film - The Well of Love (1943) at Školfilm's Institute for Training Instruments. The film inspired by the legend of the Trenčín Castle is one of many, in which Kubal has inspired Slovak legends, traditions or folklore.
His style is characterized by short sketch, humor, and thoughtful dramatization of stories. He is the author of many animated films that have won numerous international awards. He has been acting actor in the movie Beware!.
Kubal has greatly contributed to the visual profiling of the satirical magazine Roháč. He was also known as a folk narrator with a distinctive kind of humor.
