Synopsis
In 1630 plague is devastating Milan, and three men are unjustly accused to be some plague spreeders. They are a commissioner of Health, an humble barber and a noble Spanish. While te first two are tortured, condemned and killed, the third, more powerful, be able to save himself. Based on an historical essay by Alessandro Manzoni, it is a condemnation of crimes of State committed by a justice which reply to a climate of fear searching for scapegoats.
