OCEAN RESCUE - THE STATE OF THE ARCTIC

Category: Edition 2018

Synopsis
Climate change is at the centre of the scientific debate: the Arctic is an emblem of this change, but also the place that can provide indications to find a solution. This is shown in ‘Ocean Rescue - The state of the Arctic’, a documentary by Sky TG24, by Daniele Moretti, which takes the viewer to the heart of the Arctic, where the effects of global warming are more evident and the glaciers are dissolving faster and faster. Here scientists from all over the world collaborate to understand the effects of these changes on Earth and how to deal with the phenomenon of global warming. The report also shows the effects of marine plastic pollution: in the waters of the Arctic sea have been found 12 thousand micro-plastic particles per litre, coming through the ocean currents from all over the world. The documentary is part of the ‘Sky ocean rescue’ Campaign, launched by the Sky group at an international level with the aim of helping to safeguard the seas in danger due to plastic pollution, the excessive exploitation of fish resources and the loss of biodiversity.
