TONI TRUPIA
Born in Agrigento in 1979, he is a director and screenwriter. After earning his degree, he moved to Rome where he directed several short films including RIGOR MORTIS (1998), PUNTI DI VISTA: FAVARA CONOSCIUTA (1998). He studied directing at Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and worked as an assistant director on L'APPELLO DI UN AMICO, a shorth film directed by Mario Monicelli. In 2007 he directed THE RIGHT GUY. In 2010 he collaborated on the screenplay of the film VALLANZASCA - ANGELS OF EVIL, starring Kim Rossi Stuart and directed by Michele Placido. He taught directing at the NUCT in Rome. In 2012 he released ITAKER, his second feature film, starring Francesco Scianna (nominated for the Silver Ribbons for Best Actor and for the Globi d’Oro for the screenplay). In 2013 he directed the documentary HONEY for Ismea. He teaches directing at "Sentieri Selvaggi" Film School in Rome. He directed the documentary series ALFABETO for "Il Fatto quotidiano" web tv.. he directed the video clip HID & LENNY for Sony Classic. In 2016, he directed the documentary ERO MALERBA and he is one of the scriptwriters of 7 MINUTES Michele Placido’s.
