The Four River Film Festival in Karlovac, Croatia, as described by three giffoners: "An opportunity to broaden our horizons. Cinema must have faith in new generations"

An event created by young people for young people, with productions and events specifically focused on the universe of youth aged 14 to 20: this is the Four River Film Festival directed by Sanja Zanki Pejić, which, after a two-year hiatus and online meetings, has finally welcomed back its international jury.

Partnering with Giffoni since 2016, with hundreds of Croatian teenagers who have experienced the festival making new friends and discovering films and realities that were only apparently distant, the Four River has renewed its collaboration with Giffoni by welcoming three giffoners from September 6 to 13.

Antonella Caputo, Alessia La Rocca and Emanuela Trezza were the protagonists of this exciting experience. "We shared an intense adventure, first visiting Zagreb, the capital city, which is full of wonderful cathedrals, and then discovering Karlovac, where the festival was held", the giffoners told. "We attended screenings of many short films in the Zorin Dom Theater as well as evening screenings along the charming four rivers that run alongside the city".

A totalizing experience: "The Karlovac festival was an opportunity to get to know a new country, Croatia. The magical atmosphere and the vibrancy of the people we met brought us one of the most inspiring experiences the world of cinema can offer. We found so much willpower, so much creativity and so many young people like us, waiting to be discovered, understood, looked up to. The Four River allowed us to realize that cinema can trust the new generations. Such realities, which are completely dedicated to the young, to their dreams and needs, deserve to exist and should be supported because they have the power to broaden our horizons. Just like Giffoni, which gave us this fantastic opportunity".
