The European Film Academy announces the three films vying for the 2022 Young Audience Award

Three films -two features and a documentary- have been selected by film experts and teenagers from all over Europe to take part in the Young Audience Award (YAA), scheduled for November 13 in Erfurt, Germany. The works in competition include ANIMAL, COMEDY QUEEN and DREAMS ARE LIKE WILD TIGERS, all of which were presented at Giffoni in past editions of the festival.

During the event, European films aimed at audiences aged 12 to 14 will be awarded, and the winners will be chosen by a jury of young people from 42 countries, who will watch the films online and in over 60 theaters in more than 70 European cities.

The award ceremony will take place on November 13 and will be streamed on the YAA website: https://europeanfilmawards.eu. On the same day, the CICAE (Confédération internationale des cinémas d'art et d'essai) will be celebrating the European Day of Art Cinema. Both events will mark the beginning of the "European Film Month".

The grand finale is scheduled for December 10 in Reykjavik, at the European Film Awards. The YAA is also part of the "European Film Club", a film platform that allows young people from across Europe to come together to watch and discuss films and create their own. Giffoni is among the project's partners.

The Young Audience Award is organized and presented by the European Film Academy and the European Film Academy Productions with the support of Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (MDM) and Creative Europe Media.
