Films in competition on July 28th

Otar’s death” is the feature film in competition for the Generator +16 section. It will be projected in Sala Truffaut on the 28th of July at 10 a.m. Directed by Ioseb Soso Bliadze, it illustrates the story of Nika, a 16-year-old who accidentally hits an old man in a car accident. The victim's family promise to refrain from pressing charges against Nika if his mother Keti compensates their loss in cash. Mother and son find themselves in a difficult situation: they have to gather a big amount of money in just one day in order to prevent Nika from being imprisoned. At 2:30 p.m., again in Sala Truffaut, projection of OLTRE IL CONFINE” is scheduled. The film is directed by Alessandro Valenti, for the Generator +13 section. The protagonist Bekisisa is a 12-year-old girl with a wonderful voice able to enchant animals. Her little brother Eno, who is 6 years old, dreams about getting Mané’s shirt, his favourite football player. Their enchanted world is just like a fairy-tale.

In Sala Sordi at 10 a.m. HOW I LEARNED TO FLY” by Rodivoje Andrić will be projected for Elements +10 section. The film will be replayed at 2:30 p.m. In Sala Lumière DETECTIVE BRUNO” is scheduled for 10 a.m., to be replayed at 2:30 p.m. Its protagonist is Oscar, an 8-year-old boy, who is a big fan of “Detective Bruno” series. He lives in an orphanage but on his birthday he finds an envelope containing a hint to guide him to his last gift hidden by his parents. Oscar decides to hire the best detective he knows to help him out. Nevertheless, “DETECTIVE BRUNO” series actor Bruno Ksieski is a cynical and irritable man who dislikes children. Teenage brothers Ethan (17) and Derek (19) do their best to look after their mother, a drug-seeker, while struggling with adolescence troubles. This is the story of “STAY AWAKE, to be projected at 10 a.m. in Sala Galileo for Generator +18 section. At 2:45 p.m., again in Sala Galileo, “I am chance” feature film will be projected for Gex Doc section: astute, sassy and resilient, Chancelvie and her friends take on the world, fighting and nurturing, stealing and sharing, turning tricks and making art. The film is directed by Marc-Henri Wajnberg.
