Films in competition on July 26th

The sixth day of the Festival will feature films in competition dealing with the theme of transition from adolescence to the first typical problems of adulthood. At 10:00 a.m. in the Sala Truffaut, boys and girls of the Generator +16 section will watch HEARTBEAST (Finland/France/Germany 2022) by Aino Suni. The teenager Elina, an aspiring rapper, is forced to leave Finland by her mother, who is engaged to a man living in the South of France. Here she meets her 17-year-old half-sister Sofia, torn between her passion for dancing and partying with drugs, alcohol and boys.

Afterwards, the jurors of Generator +13 will be in the theatre at 2:30 p.m. to watch THE SLEEPING BEAST (Estonia/Latvia) directed by Jaak Kilmi, starring Kristjan, a boy who likes to spend his days playing with his friends in an abandoned factory. The group's harmony will be broken when the security guard Elmar bans them from the area and then is involved in an accident that will force Kristjan to make a choice that could change his life.

Elements +10 in the Sala Sordi at 10:00 a.m. and again at 2:30 p.m. will watch the film BIGMAN (Netherlands 2022) by Camiel Schouwenaar. Two best friends, Dylan and Youssef, have always dreamed of being professional footballers. Due to a sudden event, Dylan will find himself living a new life, but without forgetting his dream of winning the Touzani Cup with his friend. Providential for the boy will be the acquaintance of his friend (and crush) Maya, with a passion for skateboarding.

In the Sala Lumière at 10:00 a.m. and again at 2:30 p.m., the young jurors of Elements +6 will watch the animated film LITTLE ALLAN - THE HUMAN ANTENNA (Denmark 2022) directed by Amalie Næsby Fick. The divorce of Little Allan's parents results in the child moving to another town and having no friends. The only person he begins to hang out with is an elderly gentleman with an obsession with UFOs and, after an experiment, the alien Britney swoops into Allan's life.

At 10:00 a.m., the older jurors of Generator +18 will be entertained in the Sala Galileo with a screening of the film LET ME HEAR IT BAREFOOT (Japan 2021) by Riho Kudo. One day, Naomi, who works in her father's rubbish collection company, meets Maki, a young man who lives with her blind mother-in-law Midori, who is fond of travelling but unable to see places due to a serious illness. For this reason, the two kids will try to find a way to make her listen to the sounds of the city while staying at home.

And finally, the Gex Doc section, again in the Sala Galileo, will watch TOLYATTI ADRIFT (Spain 2022) by Laura Sisterò, a film that portrays the city of Togliatti, symbol of the socialist party and also known today as the Russian Detroit. In this setting, the movement Boyevaya Klassika is born to save the iconic old Lada cars from the local factory by turning them into a means of rebellion. The story will be narrated by Slava, Misha and Lera.
