Films in competition on July 28th

Freedom and the struggle to obtain it, these are the prevailing themes of the eighth day of the Festival. Sala Truffaut at 10 am, the Generator +16 group will be watching the film 18 KHZ (Kazakhstan 2020) directed by Farkhat Sharipov: Sanzhar is a boy who seeks freedom and does so with his friend Dhzaga by breaking rules and taking big risks. Also at 10am and 2.30pm, the Elements +10 at the Sala Alberto Sordi will see the film MICA (France, Morocco 2020) directed by Ismaël Ferroukhi: Mica's life is destined to change completely after meeting Sophia, a former tennis champion who notices him working in the exclusive tennis club in Casablanca that she frequents. For the Elements +6 at 10 am and again at 2.30 pm, in the Lumìere Room the film BUSTER'S WORLD (Denmark 2021) directed by Martin Miehe-Renard: Love and magic: this is the world of Buster, an 11-year-old boy who decides to take part in the Talent Show of his city and does so by preparing his magician act. At 2.30 p.m. in the Truffaut Room a film dedicated to Generators +13: VACARME (Canada 2020) directed by Neegan Trudel: Èmile has no family, but her need for love leads her towards her mother, a self-centred woman who is negative for her. Also negative is the influence of her roommate Ariel with whom she is always in trouble. Renaud, who has become her guitar teacher, will give her some peace of mind and confidence. At 2.45 p.m. the Gex Docs in the Sala Galileo will see the film KIDS CUP (Denmark, Finland, Norway 2021) directed by Line Hatland: Stories of football, friendship and competition, in a story that intertwines with personal relationships. For Elements +3 at 7.30 p.m. Sala Alberto Sordi, a series of shorts for children: THE 7 KIDS (Russia 2020) directed by Marina Karpova: Do you remember the fairy tale "The Wolf and the 7 kids"? Well, that's what director Marina Karpova wants to tell. BATTERY DADDY (South Korea 2021) directed by Jeon Seung-bae: Dad Battery works in children's toys, padlocks and remote controls. A trip out of town turns into an adventure. BEMOL (Switzerland 2021) directed by Oana Lacroix: The featherless nightingale manages to make peace in the forest. One bad day, however, a storm hits, the nightingale cools down and can no longer sing. COLORFUL (South Korea 2021) directed by Cha Jae-hyeon and Hwang Byeong-hyeon: Will is a child inventor and uses his skills to create glasses for his dog Norman to enable him to see colours. FLY (Spain 2020) directed by Carlos Gómez-Mira Sagrado: Fly is sad because he cannot migrate with his fellow creatures. Yet the encounter with Pio-Pio gives him serenity and a purpose in life. GUTS (USA 2021) directed by Byung Gun Park: Danny is afraid to use his bike without training wheels and his friends make fun of him. So, Danny's liver springs into action and teaches him how to ride a bike without training wheels. HOPPER'S DAY (USA 2021) directed by Jingqi Zhang: A tale of a cricket's dream come true. Sala Lumìere at 19.30 for Generator +18 kids, 10 SONGS FOR CHARITY (Belgium, Netherlands 2021) directed by Karin Junger: Charity and her sister Happy have a dream: to change their lives and open a car dealership. Thanks to a trip to Europe and the help of other women, maybe they will realise their dream.
