Films in competition on July 27th

Existential problems, perspectives for the future, change and hope: the prevailing themes of the seventh day of the Festival. In the Truffaut Room at 10 am, Generators +16 will be watching SOPHIE JONES (USA 2020) directed by Jessie Barr: Sophie, a girl shaken by a serious bereavement, the loss of her mother, is faced with a lack of emotions, so she tries everything to feel something again. Sala Alberto Sordi at 10 am for Elements +10 will be screened will attend the screening of THE HOOP (Turkey 2021) directed by Ahmet Toklu: Sport, love and the desire to change things with Ahmet, a boy born into a poor family who tries to help his family by working and studying. At school he falls in love with his classmate Ehran and to impress her he decides to take up basketball. Where can he train and become a champion?. In the Truffaut Room at 2.30 p.m., for Generator +13, a film about the passion for music: THE CITY OF THE WILD BEATS (Colombia 2021) directed by Henry E. Rincón: A hostile environment, the one in which Tato lives, and his destiny is sealed. A fight between gangs forces him to run away and take refuge at his grandfather Octavio's and thanks to this encounter he will change his destiny together with the magic of music. At 2.45 p.m., the Gex Doc category at the Sala Galileo will be watching the film/documentary CHILDREN (Israel 2020) directed by Ada Ushpiz: young Palestinians who have to grow up before their time and who, in order to safeguard their freedom, risk daily imprisonment and very little legal assistance. 7.30 p.m. Sala Lumìere the Generator +18 section will participate in the screening DO NOT HESITATE (Greece, Netherlands 2021) directed by Shariff Korver: Three young soldiers find themselves guarding a military vehicle in the middle of the desert. Their encounter with a local boy, with whom they have a confrontation, will lead to a radical change in their lives.
