#Giffoni50 - Winter Edition: Here’s the program

The fourth leg is ready to unfold during the Christmas holidays with a digital festival from 26 to 30 December with masterclasses, special events, films in competition, concerts and Q&As for children and families

After being the first in Italy to restart in August with an international festival in attendance, Giffoni is ready to launch its Winter Edition, the first Christmas edition in fifty years of history. It will be a new project, a completely digital experience, dedicated mainly to children - the Elements +3, +6 and +10 - and their families, but also to children and young adults who make up their community.
Until December 30th there will be over 1600 jurors connected from all over Italy, 50 films in competition presented by international directors, 3 live music performances, 10 masterclasses, 5 special events, 16 street artists on the web who will bring some much needed magic and fun and over 30 guests that the jurors, children and families, will have the opportunity to meet through dedicated Q&As.
A challenge that began last weekend with two special events, the first dedicated to the protection of our planet with the documentary NOW, directed by  Jim Rakete and distributed in Italy by Wanted Cinema. The film’s protagonists, activists Zion Lights, Nike Mahlhaus and Marcella Hansch graced Giffoni's “virtual stage” with their presence for an interesting discussion after the film. The second webinar, on the other hand, turned the spotlight on civil conscience with the story of Marcello Torre, a mayor murdered by the Camorra.
"We announced that we wanted to remain close to our community in such a delicate moment as the one we are going through - explains Jacopo Gubitosi, Managing Director of Giffoni - with the first Winter Edition we give concreteness to what was and remains a very strong need for us, to be always next to our community. We therefore propose a highly suggestive digital experience, very rich in content and with a strong emotional impact. We are doing  this with the whole family in mind. And if the fourth leg of the festival was designed for children, in a period as magical as Christmas is, we have decided to expand our cultural offer to everyone with activities, meetings, shows, web shows and masterclasses suitable for an audience that goes from three years upwards with very interesting activities for teenagers and parents. Together we will use this time to be together with great participation and enthusiasm. Of this we are sure».

1200 Elements
, aged 3 to 12, in the company of their parents, will enter the digital cinemas of #Giffoni50 to experience the excitement of our films from home. The jurors will be offered a selection of feature films and short films, both animated and fictional, on which they can then discuss with their peers and choose their favorite. There is also space for the over 400 jurors of the Gex Doc and Parental Experience: while the first section is entirely made up of documentaries, the second aims to present short films and online meetings to parents.

There will be no shortage of special events: five appointments will enrich the program. We start with CAUGHT IN THE NET, a social experiment that has become an interventionist documentary, made by Vít Klusák and Barbora Chalupová. The film, distributed in Italy by Mescalito Film, sheds light on the very delicate issue of child abuse on the net and will be presented on 20 December. Starting at 6.45 pm, the producer Pavla Klimešová, the actress Anezka Pithartovà and the leaders of the Postal and Communications Police, Giffoni's partner for years to promote a safer internet, will participate in a live streaming. It continues with two shorts dedicated respectively to Elements +6 and +10: Sunday 27 December Mad Entertainment, the creative factory founded in Naples by Luciano Stella and Maria Carolina Terzi, offers a preview to the giffoners LÀ DOV'È LA NOTTE and LA MUCCA NEL CIELO. The beloved 44 CAT will also be screened on the same day; the animated series produced by Rainbow in collaboration with Rai Ragazzi and Antoniano from Bologna. Three brand new preview episodes will be presented at Elements. A ratings hit, 44 CATS is broadcast in more than 100 countries in 20 languages ​​and combines music and entertainment with the highest quality CGI animation. The new episodes will soon be broadcast on Rai Yoyo and are set to follow on other international broadcasters. Rainbow will also present, on December 26, the world premiere of the teaser trailer of its new animated production, PINOCCHIO AND FRIENDS, which will be launched at the end of 2021. Iginio Straffi's new Pinocchio transforms the most famous fairy tale of all time into a television series dedicated to children and adapted in a modern way.

The Masterclasses, the online format dedicated to the in-depth study of creative sectors such as entertainment, sport, entertainment, innovation, art and, for the first time, even haute cuisine, become totally digital. An event open to all to be experienced live on the official Giffoni channels. It starts on Wednesday 16 December at 5 pm, with the master pastry chef LUIGI BIASETTO who will present the traditional panettone recipe. SAL DE RISO, a well-known pastry chef from Campania, will instead tell his version of the typical Christmas dessert on Saturday 19 December at 5 pm. But it does not end there: always in live streaming, ALESSANDRO BORGHESE will present, on Thursday 17 at 7 pm, a perfect menu for the “giffoner dinner” to be made with the family. And again a path "from hunger to abundance" with the writer and journalist ANTONIO PASCALE is scheduled for December 21 at 4 pm For this meeting, once again, Giffoni and Bayer join forces in order to raise awareness among young people about environmental Protection. While the live broadcast on Thursday 17 December at 5.30 pm will be entirely dedicated to sport: PIERLUIGI PARDO will talk about the world of football together with CIRO FERRARA, retracing the dreams of a Neapolitan child who, today, is counted among the best defenders of the 80s and 90s . Impossible not to mention his link with the iconic Maradona. Change of scene, however, with FRANCO ARMINIO, poet, writer and landscape expert. An appointment, scheduled for December 19th at 6.30 pm, to discuss beauty, history and tradition. Space then for innovation and virtual reality: on 20 December at 4 pm it's up to VR EXPERIENCE - NEW TECH ENTERTAINMENT, the panel organized by Giffoni Innovation Hub to explore the current state of VR technology in the entertainment sector. The results of the “Youth and VR” survey, carried out during the Next Generation 2020 review, will also be presented during the live show.

It starts on December 26 with the return of Iginio Straffi, founder and president of Rainbow. Charismatic and innovator, the creator of characters loved by children such as the Winx and the 44 Cats. On 27 December, directly from the wards of Doc – Nelle tue mani, the Rai fiction TV hit, with actor Pierpaolo Spollon. On December 28 it will be the turn of Rocco Fasano, one of the protagonists of the cast of SKAM Italia. Elegant and refined, an unmistakable smile illuminated by an intense gaze, an expression of beauty and simplicity: Anna Valle will return to Giffoni in this Winter Edition on December 29th.
Ficarra and Picone will instead be the great digital guests on December 30th: together with the jurors they will retrace their career made up of film and television, which has consecrated them as the most loved Sicilian duo by children and families.
Also this year ViacomCBS Networks Italia is present in Giffoni with its two kids & family target brands, Nickelodoen (Sky 605 channel) and Super! (channel 47 of the dtt and tivusat and 625 of Sky). In particular, Nickelodeon and the RCS MediaGroup childhood area will talk about Spongebob and the Manifesto of the Blue Generation*, a project created to help new generations to have a greater sensitivity towards the planet.
Super!, on the other hand, will bring Noa Planas, Swami Caputo, Valentina Bivona, Giorgio Solfrizzi and Federico Mancosu, protagonists of Talent Reverse, the new format co-produced by Mondo TV and House of Talent broadcast on Super! To the virtual stage of Giffoni! every Friday at 6.40 pm.
In each episode an influencer exchanges the role with parents, brothers, sisters or friends with many difficulties and unexpected events.

Three artists and their desire to demonstrate that there is always a need for art and beauty, today thanks to their online concerts, tomorrow back in the stadiums. The music for Giffoni does not stop: the live program proves it, proposed exclusively to the jurors of the Winter Edition, who will be able to listen to the voices of three Italian singers from home. CASADILEGO, STASH and MAX PEZZALI will perform unplugged: six songs telling their personal and professional story. It starts on Monday 28 December with the talent of STASH, frontman of The Kolors, who represents one of the most popular groups of recent years since 2015 thanks to the talent show Amici. Following the victory of X Factor 2020, CASADILEGO is ready to meet the jurors of Giffoni on December 29th. Raised in a family of musicians, Elisa's always been surrounded by music: today her single "Vittoria" is collecting millions of plays on streaming platforms. The live calendar closes on Wednesday 30 December with a musical icon: MAX PEZZALI. 30 years of career behind him, the idol of entire generations and a recently released album, “Something new”: Pezzali will once again be able to conquer the jurors’ hearts.

In this Winter Edition the Street Fest also lands “on the web” and it does so while preserving its charm and emotions. The shows of the "A theater with mom and dad" format are reserved for jurors of the Elements + 3, +6, +10 sections and their families who will have the opportunity to attend an exceptional festival. For the Elements +3 scheduled: The adventures of Pesce Gaetano with GIALLO MARE MINIMAL TEATRO; If a winter night Santa Claus with FLAVIA D’AIELLO; I want the moon! of the TEATRO GIOVANI TEATRO PIRATA association; A Friend Beside the MATTIOLI COMPANY.
