Aiello at #Giffoni50 for “Musica e contaminazioni”

Aiello is an adopted Roman but he is originally from Cosenza, and he is one of the new personalities of the Italian indie-pop scene. A genre that has now become mainstream and that is attracting an ever increasing audience. “Musica e contaminazioni” (“music and contaminations”) is the theme that the journalist from Turin, Roberto Pavanello, talked about with Aiello. In a question and answer session with the giffoners, they dealt with this multifaceted artistic model that, according to many, is a source of inspiration, enrichment and sharing. “I care about conveying deep and stimulating emotions. I’ve always composed drawing inspiration from daily life, a stroll, a coffee, the news. Simple emotions” Aiello claimed.

With the film Bangla, an example of the cultural contamination, in a Rome inhabited by Bengali people, he won the David di Donatello Award for music: “I thought they were joking when they told me I had won. I was competing against great personalities and I am super happy to have taken part in a small project with a great meaning”. As regards his future projects, Aiello announces a new record within Christmas, and leaves the giffoners with this sentence: “Evolving is fundamental, don’t be lazy!”.
