The Undersecretary Sibilia: “Giffoni is a sign of hope”

Giffoni does not stop. On the contrary, it doubles, it goes on until December, it multiplies. It is the result of a success which arrived thanks to the sacrifice of those who believed in this idea, a success which involves kids. Giffoni has never stopped, not even during the lockdown with a lot of connections to its community, and today, thanks to health technology, it could happen in presence. Being able to meet the young people is an extremely positive thing, which gives us a great boost and great motivation. Giffoni is a wonderful example, a sign of hope for everyone”. These are Carlo Sibilia’s words, Undersecretary of State, when he arrived at Cittadella del Cinema. To welcome him there were the director Claudio Gubitosi, the Mayor of Giffoni Valle Piana, Antonio Giuliano, and the President of Ente Autonomo Giffoni Experience, Pietro Rinaldi.

The theme is the Covid-19 emergency, the central matter of his speech, at Sala Blu as well where the Undersecretary met the kids of Giffoni Impact. “The virus spares no one - he said - We still need to be very careful and follow the sanitary regulations just like we did in the most difficult moment of the emergency. Italy led the way in managing the virus compared to other countries of the world. We set some standards that were extremely useful elsewhere. We showed a great ability to follow rules. Now we need to continue along this direction, without being afraid”.

It is the same for school and for starting face-to-face teaching again: “Today - Sibilia continued - Italy is one step ahead because we have a plan of reopening”. Then his thoughts go to the law enforcement and police, for their great job during the lockdown, for the passion that helped them facing such a delicate phase, always together with the citizens. “They are the real Italian pride”, the Minister concluded.
