With the short film “Oltre i giganti” Giffoni Entertainment is born

A poetic Don Chisciotte that looks into the future and rediscovers himself as a “friend” of his life-long enemies: windmills, which have become wind turbines. We are talking about Don Chisciotte from “Oltre i giganti”, a short film produced by Giffoni Innovation Hub, a creative agency promoted by Giffoni Opportunity, featuring Eni, which gives birth to Giffoni Entertainment.

The idea of creating Giffoni Entertainment - Jacopo Gubitosi explains, Strategy Manager and Manager Media Partner of Giffoni Opportunity - is born from an awareness: we have been dialoguing with all the national and international majors for decades and, exactly last year with the Giffoni innovation Hub group, we wondered if we could make cinematographic products for Italy and for foreign countries. That is how Giffoni Entertainment was born, an innovative reality, within which equipment, from drones to rover cams, is made. All giving space to young directors, young actors and in general young people who when they dream about their future, they imagine cinema”.

CINEMA AND FUTURE

A kind of future is also the one shown in the short film “Oltre i giganti” directed by Marco Renga. Pietro de Silva plays the role of a Don Chisciotte who has lost his identity and finds it again when he meets a kid, interpreted by Cristian Mazzotti: with him he discovers a different present and, perhaps, a different future. “This short film - the executive producer Francesco Paglioli says - was born thanks to the collaboration with Eni, guest at this year’s Festival and partner to Giffoni thanks to an ongoing partnership on the themes of environment. Verde Giffoni (Green Giffoni) is a philosophical and humanistic path, facing an important challenge”. A project which featured Fabio Ferro and other partners, among which Panatronics and Digital Cinema Crew. It was created during the Covid19 following safety measures.

YOUNG PEOPLE AND INNOVATION

The involvement of the kids - explains Luca Tesauro, Ceo and Co-Founder of Giffoni Innovation Hub - has been fundamental and it is the mirror of the very spirit of Giffoni, since Giffoni has been using the cinema as a means to make young people think about delicate matters and now it takes the field. From being a showcase for high-quality cinema, it turns into a cinematography factory, designed for very young people. An important target that aims at the future. All with the help of new technologies". “The newly created Giffoni Entertainment brand - Paglioli concludes - is, simply put, the cinematographic arm of Giffoni Opportunity, that gathers ideas, screenplays and brings them to life. It is the realisation of what has been the spirit of Giffoni for 50 years. A creative spirit that becomes concrete".

OLTRE I GIGANTI

A creative spirit which is ready to take part in all the cinema festivals for young people with “Oltre i giganti”. “Being involved in this project is wonderful - says the director Marco Renda - even just because it is about Giffoni, and Giffoni for me - and not just for me - is a synonym for cinema. This kind of cinema is even more important because it deals with kids. Because it is about kids. Kids of all times create a sort of bridge among very different generations”. “A very important experience - the protagonist Pietro de Silva added - as only a project as this can be. A project in which you put your heart and that has a lot to say. Because its appearance says everything. A timeless story that talks about the environment, renewable energy sources and freedom. The freedom of dreaming of a better future".
