#Giffoni50: from tomorrow the protagonists will be 305 Generators+13, 75 Impact kids, 60 Cult Masterclassers and 1200 Jurors connected from 46 Italian and foreign hubs

Premieres, special events, great guests and institutions in the second tranche of the Festival

The waiting is over: starting tomorrow and until August 29th, jurors of the section Generators +13 will finally be able to live the emotions of #Giffoni50 again. Yet again the Festival is ready to overcome any kind of distance and reach its participants wherever they are, involving them in screenings, debates, opportunities for reflection: the 1200 teenagers belonging to the 32 hubs in Italy and 14 hubs abroad will join the jurors.

From August 25th to August 29, five days full of meetings and events. Great premieres will continue: there will be THE GREAT ALASKAN RACE, a film by Brian Presley scheduled for August 26th with Notorious Pictures and ENDLESS by Scott Sperr, scheduled for August 27th, distributed by Eagle Pictures. There will also be four special events: on August 28th Infinity is proud to present RAGAZZI IRRESPONSABILI (Irresponsible Kids), the documentary dealing with young people involved in the Fridays for Future movement, co-financed by the Infinity Lab. On the same day Eleonora Gaggero, Ludovica Francesconi, Gaja Masciale, Jozef Gjura, Alfa and the director Alice Filippi will present the trailer and the first scenes of SUL PIÙ BELLO, a teen dramedy produced by Eagle Pictures and directed by Alice Filippi, from a work by Roberto Proia (Come non detto), written together with Michela Straniero.

On August 29th HANGRY BUTTERFLIES will be screened, a documentary by Maruska Albertazzi produced by Blindspot Studios with Rai Cinema. #Giffoni50 does not fail in paying a tribute to the great Federico Fellini, on the occasion of the centenary of his birth. On Saturday 29th (10.00 pm, Yaris Arena) the film FELLINI DEGLI SPIRITI will be screened, under the direction of Anselma Dell’Olio. The documentary, produced by Mad Entertainment with Rai Cinema and co-produced together with Walking the Dog, Arte and Rai Com, will be screened in Italian theatres on August 31st and September 1st and 2nd. It will be distributed by Nexo Digital.

There will be a wide range of talented people: LUDOVICA MARTINO, among the protagonists of the Netflix film Sotto il sole di Riccione, LORENZO ZURZOLO, who became famous thanks to the Netflix series “Baby”, and BENEDETTA PORCAROLI, protagonist of “18 regali” (18 gifts) by Francesco Amato. On August 28th there will be MAX GIUSTI, while on August 29th, it’s the turn of the young athlete MANUEL BORTUZZO. It will be a particularly emotional moment: he will tell his story, a story made up of dreams and sacrifices but also courage and strength. He will present his book “RINASCERE - L’anno in cui ho ricominciato a vivere” which retraces his life, from his achievements, going through his pain until his rebirth. At Giffoni there will also be GAIA, winner of the last edition of the musical Tv programme “Amici di Maria De Filippi”, another 2020’s true revelation.

The second tranche of #Giffoni50 will involve an international talent as well, via live stream. The Oscar-winning GLEN KEANE will be the protagonist of a streaming meeting scheduled for Tuesday August 27th, when the jurors of the Generator+13 category will have the chance to interact with one of the most prestigious personalities of animation films, director of the much-anticipated OVER THE MOON. The animation film, the result of a Pearl Studio and Netflix co-production, will be available this autumn exclusively on Netflix.

Giffoni Impact is starting again as well and it will consist of a journey of investigation and comparison reserved to 75 teenagers who will have the opportunity of meeting men and women from science, arts, culture, theatre, institutions, entrepreneurship, sports, journalism. On August 26th, the actor and theatre director TONI SERVILLO will be at the Festival. He starred the Academy Award-winning film “The Great Beauty”. There will also be ANGELO CURTI, producer and president of Teatri Uniti; NIKO ROMITO, multi-starred chef, will be present for a meeting by In Cibum higher education culinary institute of Pontecagnano Faiano (Salerno), the gastronome and territorial marketing expert by In Cibum PAOLO VIZZARI; DOMENICO DE MAIO, director of the Agenzia Nazionale Giovani with the project ANG Radio; the president of Fondazione Valter Longo Onlus, Biogerontology professor and director of the University of Southern California Longevity Institute, VALTER LONGO; MARCO BELLEZZA, CEO at Infratel; RUGGERO CAPPUCCIO, playwright, writer, film director and director of the Napoli Teatro Festival; FILIPPO SATOLLI, CEO at StartUpItalia!; SONIA MASSARI from Fondazione Barilla; MASSIMO OSANNA, director of the Mibact Museums and General Director of the Superintendency of Pompeii; ANTONIO MAGLIO, Head of Human Knowledge (Joule – Scuola di Eni per l’Impresa); PAOLO LIGUORI, director of all-news system TgCom24; the sociologist DOMENICO DE MASI and the Mad Entertainment film producer LUCIANO STELLA.

There will be really important personalities of the Italian musical and Tv scene that will meet the kids to talk about the backstage of two important sectors of the entertainment industry that are really popular among kids. SAMUEL (August 25th), voice and soul of the band Subsonica; SARA POTENTE from Sony Music, will talk about her new Keychange Ambassador role for Italy, assigned to her by the campaign for recognition of gender equality in the recording industry, and FRANCESCA MONTE, ready to talk about new artists from Campania. Other guests will be GUÉ PEQUENO, SHABLO, ROCCO HUNT, SVM, AIELLO and ERNIA.

From tomorrow CULT MASTERCLASS will start. It will give an insight on cinema, literature and art aimed at 60 young people from Campania. The first courses will be those held by MARCO PONTI and ANDREA JUBLIN. Other guests will be the director CARLO SIRONI, the actor CLAUDIO SEGALUSCIO, the cinema critic NICK VAVARELLI; the agent DANIELE ORAZI, the screenwriter ISABELLA AGUILAR; the director LAURA LUCHETTI; the director FABRIZIO LAURENTI; the director DAVIDE LORENZANO and the actor YARI GUGLIUCCI from Salerno.

Moreover, there will be three young and talented actors, GIAMPIERO DE CONCILIO, FRANCESCO SERPICO and MASSIMILIANO CAIAZZO will be the protagonists of a masterclass created in collaboration with DO Cinema of DANIELE ORAZI. Two famous names will conclude the selection: on August 28th RAOUL BOVA will talk with the giffoners about his intense career, from its early days in 1992, until the interpretations that have confirmed him as one of the most popular Italian actors. While, on August 29th, there will be SERGIO CASTELLITTO, one of the most intense and talented actors of Italian cinema, he received three David di Donatello awards.

This year Giffoni has chosen to give a common line to the institutional meetings. The main question that changes according to the different responsibilities of public representatives is “What happens…”. There will be GAETANO MANFREDI, Ministry of University and Research. Tomorrow at 11.30 am he will meet the jurors, giffoners and masterclassers. On August 27th LUCIA AZZOLINA, the Ministry of Education, will be in live stream talking about the new challenges regarding the world of education. MARIA STELLA GELMINI will be there on the same day, while PIERO DE LUCA will meet the young participants of Giffoni Innovation to talk about Europe.

On August 28th there will also be SERGIO COSTA, Minister for the Environment and the Protection of Land and Sea and CARLO SIBILIA, Ministry of Interior Undersecretary. On August 29th there will be LUIGI DI MAIO, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and PAOLA PISANO, Ministry of Innovation Technology and Digitalization. The closure of #Giffoni 50, scheduled for Saturday August 29th, is assigned to ANNA LAURA ORRICO, Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities Undersecretary, officially delegated by the Minister Dario Franceschini. The institutional territory representatives will be asked the same question “What happens in my Region?VALERIA FASCIONE, regional Assessore for Startups, Innovation and Internationalisation and CHIARA MARCIANI, regional Assessore for Training and Equal Opportunities.
