Giffoni 50 also involves remote participants online with 46 hubs in Italy and abroad

Giffoni Film Festival proves itself as a unique and immersive experience, any way you live it. The health emergency could not stop the ability of the Festival to gather people together. Once again, Giffoni has been able to overcome any obstacles in order to reach its kids, everywhere. They made it thanks to the 46 hubs (32 in Italy and 14 abroad) that allowed 2000 giffoners to attend #Giffoni50.

Every Hub was created and will be managed by the Giffoni Ambassadors, a network of almost 50 teenagers all over Italy who are committed to promoting Giffoni Opportunity and bringing it to their own area of the country. Each hub includes almost fifteen teenagers who remotely work as jurors. They join live streamings to watch the films in competition, starting debates and virtually meeting the hosts in Giffoni.

The giffoners of the 46 hubs join the 610 jurors, who take part in the first two moments of the Festival in presence. The first part, from August 18th to August 22nd, is dedicated to the Generators+16 and Generators+18 juries, and the second one, from August 25th to August 29th, reserved to the Generators+13 jurors. They are enthusiastic and curious about being in charge of representing more than 7500 kids who, in the months before the health emergency, had already become part of the various sections.

#Giffoni50 validates its key role of unification and international cultural formation, also thanks to the valuable experience of the Italian hubs (in Bari, Basso Piave, Battipaglia, Castrovillari, Catania, Cava de’ Tirreni, Ceccano, Cittanova, Codigoro, Corigliano Rossano, Cosenza, Fano, Ferrara, Genzano di Roma, Lecce, Montescaglioso, Naples, Palermo, Pesaro, Potenza, Riccione, Riva Ligure, Roccapiemonte, Rome, Rozzano, Salerno, Sarmede, Taurianova, Terranova di Pollino, Tonara, Tropea and Vietri sul Mare) and abroad (in Greece, Serbia, Belgium, Romania, Spain, Croatia, Germany, France, Switzerland, England, Northern Macedonia, Bulgaria and Poland).

"The news of Giffoni going to great lengths - said the director and founder Claudio Gubitosi - has travelled the world. I really appreciated the astonishment that has welcomed this new creative model, taking place both online and in presence. This way we can reach thousands of teenagers who will be able to attend Giffoni just like those who are lucky enough to be here in presence”.
