After the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, sent his best wishes on occasion of the opening of Giffoni50 celebrations, another testimony by another President came, on occasion of the launch of the activities for the fiftieth edition of Giffoni Film Festival. We are talking about the Federal Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel.
“Giffoni Festival - she wrote in a message directed to the founder and director Claudio Gubitosi - is known far beyond the Italian borders as one of the main children film festivals, giving young people the opportunity to participate in various cultural events and generating interest in cinema and film-related professions. Allow me to express my best regards and wishes for the success of this year’s event”.
“On occasion of the 50th edition of Giffoni, I would have been honoured to have the German Chancellor here with us - Claudio Gubitosi claimed - We are experiencing complicated times which hinder travel. Angela Merkel is friends with Giffoni. The words she wanted to tell us fill my heart with joy, they moved me. This is the sign of special attention that makes us proud”.
