#Giffoni50 launches the selection of the films in competition

Giffoni50, the selection of the films in competition is ready to be launched. From today, 11 December 2019, and until 29 May 2020, it will be possible to register feature films and short films (both fiction and animated) and documentaries (feature films only) for the fiftieth edition of the Giffoni Film Festival which will take place from 16 to 25 July 2020.

The Festival, organized by the Ente Autonomo Giffoni Experience, co-financed by the Campania Region and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities - General Directorate for Cinema, with the support of the Municipality of Giffoni Valle Piana and numerous private sponsorships, represents, with its fifty years of history, a test bench for production aimed at children, teenagers and children. A place where producers, filmmakers and distributors have the opportunity to meet and learn more about the children and family entertainment universe and their target audience.

For feature films the presentation of the works at other Italian festivals, their theatrical release or the television broadcast in Italy will result in their exclusion from the competition. No cost will be required for their registration.

There are eight sections where the works can be submitted:

Elements +3 - international competition for animated short films for children aged 3 to 5.

Elements +6 - international competition for feature films and short films of fiction and animation. The section is dedicated to an audience of 6 to 9.

Elements +10 - international competition for feature films and short films of fiction and animation. The section is dedicated to an audience of 10 to 12.

Generator +13 - international fiction and animation feature film competition. The section is dedicated to an audience aged 13 to 15.

For each section the Gryphon Award will be given to the best feature and short film and to the best documentary in the case of the GEX Doc section.
