The winners will be part of the Giffoni Music Concept - Vivo Giffoni Live Shows

After last year’s success, the GiffoniRapContest, Giffoni Film Festival’s spinoff dedicated to urban music, which will take place from July 19th to 27th in the Giffoni Music Arena in Piazza F.lli Lumière in Giffoni Valle Piana (Sa), is back. A real "RapCall", the only one in Italy of its kind, with the aim of selecting three Campanian and three national artists who will be registered in the official Giffoni Music Concept – Vivo Giffoni program, the concerts and musical events that will be an essential part of the Giffoni Film Festival 49th edition.

This year the GiffoniRapContest jury will include, in addition to the fathers of the contest Don Joe (among the most important producers and DJs in Italy) and Max Brigante (Radio 105), three young artists like Anastasio, Shade and Junior Cally who will make the contest even more prestigious.

A sign of great attention which the most important festival for children in the world offers to the young creative realities of the national and regional territories with the aim of enhancing the rising artistic talents offering them one of the most qualified stages for the new musical Italian scene. The RapCall is exclusively for Urban, Rap and Trap musicians and singers, their age ranging between 18 and 40 years old, who can perform as a band or solo artists. Applications can be sent from today until July 4th at midnight. On July 10th, the names of the six selected artists who will perform in the contest will be announced. A commission composed by professionals from the field, journalists and participants in the 2019 MUSIC&RADIO Masterclass will judge them.

The winner will be awarded with the support to his/her discographic project by the publishing of a single in digital edition, produced by Don Joe, the MN Italy press office, and a radio play on Radio 105 in Max Brigante’s show Mi Casa .

Winner of the #GiffoniRapContest first edition was OloHoma, a singer from Potenza (Basilicata), who overcame the finalists Mikesueg, and Young Henry from Salerno, and Paradise from Trentino Alto Adige. In addition to performing on the Giffoni Music Concept stage, the artist saw his single published in digital edition and was a guest in Max Brigante’s radio show Mi Casa.
