Cinema and fun in Valencia: The giffoners back from MICE tell their story

Giulia Fiore, Emma Cerrone, Claudia Ruggiero e Mario Marcello Cesaro are the four giffoners who flew to Spain with Giusi Rago of the Jury Office to take part in the Mostra Internacional Cinema Educatiu: Once back home in Italy the Italian delegation of youth wrote a brief report about their experience. The journey was not only an opportunity to partake in the seventh edition of the Spanish Fest but also a chance to visit Valencia and Sueca, where they discovered the culture and history of the two towns and their biggest assets such as the Oceanographic park.

Here's their report:
On the first day, 7 February 2019, we met at Naples airport for the first time. The plane trip went well and, as soon as we arrived in Valencia, we settled in the hotel, then went to the welcome cocktail. The second day we visited the city during the morning. In the afternoon, however, we went to the rock concert of one of the festival guests. In the evening, we gathered at the festival offices together with the other jurors to get to know each other better.

On the third day we saw the first short films in competition and, at lunch, we ate the famous Valencian paella. During the afternoon we visited the old part of the city and, in the evening, we all ate together. On the fourth day we finished viewing the shorts, concluded the activities organized by the festival with a basketball game dedicated to raising awareness among disabled people in the city of Sueca. Later, we saw a Spanish film called 'Los Campeones' (The Champions).

On the fifth day we visited the city of science and oceanography. We saw the various animal species of the various oceans and the best thing we did was seeing the dolphin show. After that we went to Malvarosa, the famous Valencian beach, where we relaxed for a while.

On the last day we did a little tour of the city and then went to the airport. Thanks to this experience we had the opportunity to meet young people from Finland, Palestine, Germany and Spain. Moreover, we visited a beautiful city, full of culture. A big thank you goes to the Giffoni Film Festival, for letting us live 6 unforgettable days, and to MICE for welcoming us so warmly.
