Up to 31 May 2019 it will be possible to submit films – features and shorts (both animated and not)  for the official selection of the 49th edition of theGiffoni Film Festival, scheduled 19 - 27 July 2019.

The 2019 Festival, organized, promoted and funded by the Giffoni Experience and co-financed by Regione Campania, by the film department of the Ministery of Cultural heritage, and with the support of the Municipality of Giffoni Valle Piana, will see the participation of jurors from 53 countries, giffoners, talent, Guests from the world of culture, film, art, politics.

Over a hundred films will be in competition, exclusive premieres for Italy: for the feature films, any screenings at other Italian festivals, the theatrical release or the television broadcast in Italy will lead to the films being excluded from the competition. No cost is required for the registration of the works. For each competitive section the Gryphon Award will go to the best feature and short film.

Eight sections where filmmakers have the opportunity of submitting their work:
Elements + 3 (Animated shorts for 3 to 5 year olds + Feature films out of competition);A
Elements +6 (Features and shorts, both fiction and animation, for 6 to 9 year olds);
Elements + 10 (Features and shorts, both fiction and animation, for 10 to 12 year olds);
Generator +13 (Features and shorts, both fiction and animation, for 13 to 15 year olds);
Generator +16 (Features and shorts, both fiction and animation, for 16 to  18 year olds);
Generator +18 (Features and shorts – the latter can only be animated movies- for an 18 year old and upwards crowd);
GEX Doc (documentaries – only feature films – on children and adolescents/young adults);
Parental Experience (Fiction short movies).

The selection of the works will take place at the sole discretion of the artistic direction of the  Giffoni Experience who will communicate the final results of the feature films / documentaries only to the production and distribution companies of the films chosen by June 18, 2019. For short films, there will be a list of the works selected published on the official website of the festival www.giffonifilmfestival.it
