Pif: "Identify your heros before mafia points them out, killing"

"I should come to Giffoni more often, it's good for the ego": these the words of Pif, the first guest on the Blue Carpet of the 44th edition of Giffoni Film Festival and the first to meet the young jury members who were impatiently waiting for him in an umbelievably crowded Truffaut room.

A standing ovation welcomed the film director of "La mafia uccide solo d'estate", Pierfrancesco Diliberto's multi-awarded debut that teens saw before meeting the director, who dealt  with the jury members audience for the first time. "I was afraid of Palermo's people reaction, because we don't get by so well, apart for the final pride explosion. But I have got a feeling that it finally made it. It is a kind of self-analysis that we, Palermitan people, probably have never experienced."

The film was born because, moving to Milan and being asked by everyone about Mafia, I realized that many Italians still imagine Riina, with rifle and flat cap, not those belonging to the "good Mafia".

Film motivation, cinematographic inspirations, the most loved and the most difficult scenes: with no restrictions Pif answers the jury members, without losing light heartedness.
