The Most Magnificent Thing (Canada, 2018) by Arna Selznick has been judged by Carta Wow! as the most surprising short film in competition in Elements +3 category. The prize is handed to producer Pamela Slavin by Marika Nocerino on behalf of Futura Line. The film has won for its uncanny ability to tell the story of a girl’s tenacity and perseverance managing to create the most incredible thing with imagination and encouragement.
Synopsis. A little girl with a creative spirit, is determined to make great things. Joined by her best friend, her pet dog, the two happily explore the world, doing absolutely everything together. When she receives her very own tool kit, the little girl sets out to make the most magnificent thing for her best friend – but it’s not as easy as she thinks!
Futura Line Industry, that owns the WOW brand, has participated to Giffoni Film Festival for its second time. Youth’s creativity, expressed through activities featuring paper as a means of expression, has been at the heart of the partnership.
