Here are the films in competition on July 26 at #Giffoni2019

Family, happiness, bullying and imagination are the themes in competition today at the 49th edition of the Festival. The day begins at 10:00 in Sala Truffaut with KNOCKOUT (Iran, 2019): the film by Gholamreza Ramezani is reserved to Generator +13 and tells the story of the friendship between Bijan, Amir and Mohammad.

At the same time, in Sala Sordi, Elements +10 will judge STORM BOY (Australia, 2019) by Shawn Seet, based on Colin Thiel’s namesake book. Sala Lumière will welcome Elements +6 at 10:00 for the screening of ADVENTURES OF SAINT NICHOLAS (Ukraine, 2018) by Semen Gorov: on the eve of Saint Nicholas’ day, student Artem is forced to leave his city together with his elder sister and parents and move to a little house in the mountains.

LOVE CUTS (Serbia, 2019) by Kosta Djordević will be screened in Sala Blu – Grimaldi Lines, at 10:00, to tell Generator +16 a story of bullying and revenge. As for the Parental Experience category, seven shorts in competition will be screened in Sala Galileo starting from 10:15: ADAM’S SKIRT (France, 2018) by Clément Trehin Lalanne, THE HEDGEHOG’S DILEMMA (Switzerland, 2019) by Francesca Scalisi, JUST ME AND YOU (Canada, 2018) by Sandrine Brodeur-Desrosiers, MOTHER AND MILK (Estonia, 2019) by Ami Lindholm, PIGGY (Spagna, 2018) by Carlota Martinez Pereda, SILKWORMS (Spain, 2018) by Carlos Villafaina and SKIN (USA, 2018) by Guy Nattiv. In Sala Galileo, the documentary film WHO’S ROMEO (Italy, 2018) by Giovanni Covini will be screened for the GEX DOC category at 14:45: four 17-year-old girls and two same-aged boys test themselves with Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet under the leadership of a young actress.

Sala Sordi will welcome Elements +3 at 19.00 to judge five shorts in competition: BECOLORED (Italy, 2019) by Maurizio Forestieri, HUG ME. BIG ONE AND SMALL ONE (Poland, 2019) by Tomasz Miazga, INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S SONGS (Germany, 2019) by Maya Rothkirch, THE LAST DAY OF AUTUMN (Switzerland, 2019) by Marjolaine Perreten and THE MOST MAGNIFICENT THING (Canada, 2018) by Arna Selznick. At 19:15, in Sala Lumière, Generator +18 will judge Mark Webber’s film: THE PLACE OF NO WORDS (USA, 2019) is an imaginary story about love, told through a father and his son’s eyes.
