Films In Competition On July 23

Here are the films in competition on July 23 at #Giffoni2019

Illness, love, youth upheaval and crime are among the main themes of today’s screenings at Giffoni2019.

Competition starts at 10:00 in Sala Truffaut with A COLONY (Canada, 2018), a feature by Geneviève Dulude-De Celles for Generator +13 youth, following Mylia, a shy teenager caught up in age-related changes. At the same time, in Sala Blu – Grimaldi Lines, Generator +16 jurors will be called to express their critical judgement on TOO LATE TO DIE YOUNG (Chile, Brazil, Qatar, 2018) by Dominga Sotomayor: a delicate story which investigates on the changes of the Chilean society after the fall of Pinochet’s regime.

Competition goes on in Sala Galileo, where THE HEART OF A DOLL (Italy, 2019) by Antonio Di Domenico is on schedule at 14:45 for GEX DOC section. The documentary revolves around Veronica Tulli, an exceptional singer with "brittle bone syndrome", who refuses to become discouraged by obstacles due to her disease.

Last but not least, it will be the turn of YOUNGJU (South Corea del Sud, 2018) by Cha Sung-duk, on schedule for Generator +10 children at 19:30 in Sala Lumière. It’s the story of Youngiu and Youngin, in a succession of criminal events and shattered dreams.
