Klaus, Netflix animated film bewitched the jurors

Netflix made its debut in the animation world with KLAUS, the film that bewitched Giffoni 2019 audience with unpublished scenes during the two premières dedicated to the jurors. Directed by SERGIO PABLOS, who has worked on the project for 4-5 years and is also known as co-producer of Despicable Me, the film was entirely produced in Madrid, Spain, and is about to be released worldwide on the popular streaming platform.

The story follows Scandinavian postman Jesper who accepts a new professional challenge: delivering mail in a cold village up north. Working in the middle of nowhere, into the woods where no one reads and writes anymore, seems to be impossible. However, after coming across a weird toymaker whose name is Klaus, he will come up with a plan to increase the number of letters and save his job.

“Do you believe in Santa Claus?”, a juror asked SERGIO PABLOS. “Of course, I do! – he replied with a huge smile – I love Christmas films so much that I decided to explore their origins and debut with my own project. I think they had never been told so far”. Another juror asked the film director how it feels to be “famous”, and he added: “I’ve always put all my heart in what I do, so the greatest joy deriving from my job is receiving all the enthusiasm you’re showing me today”.
